The Symposium features candid keynote presentations from California Senate President pro Tem Darrell Steinberg and State Senator Fran Pavley on today’s biggest news stories, including the state budget crisis, the federal economic recovery package, and responses to the deepening drought. The event also includes over 40 panelists and speakers on a wide variety of environmental policy issues facing the golden state. Highlights include:

Through policy briefings and “How To” workshops, the Symposium will provide participants with the tools they need to be effective environmental advocates at the grassroots, state, and national levels.

This year the theme focuses on sustainability. Our goal is provide a forum and an outlet to share the tools and resources available to work towards our mutual goal of sustainability in a healthy California. For a complete event program, visit www.pcl.org.

Print and video journalists will have ample opportunities for interviews with California’s leading environmental experts and policy makers, especially addressing current national and state legislative issues.
