We are extremely excited to share the Planning and Conservation League (PCL) and PCL Foundation's first Annual Report.
The League is celebrating its 45th year, this year, and was the first organization to lobby on behalf of the environment at the California legislative level. During this time, staff and board members have written and helped passed some of California's most important and foundational environmental protections. Our work spans the state, from the Coastal Act to the California Environmental Quality Act. Because of its work, the League is recognized as a leading advocate in the halls of the California legislature.
Similarly, the PCL Foundation has made great strides to empower and engage the public on those environmental protections. Since 1972, the Foundation has been working as a partner to the League to research and educate Californians on innovative policy discussions and decisions. From toolkits to online resources; publications to workshops; the Foundation has ensured the public understands its role in the protection of our land, air, and water.
We were very fortunate to receive a grant that allowed us to develop this Report with the pro bono assistance from a suite of professionals. The process of having to synthesize our long histories into digestible and relevant summaries, really made us drill down to the core of who we are and why we do what we do. We are so very pleased with the results and hope you enjoy learning about an organization you support.
The League and Foundation would like to both thank you for your continued membership over the years. It is because of our members and supporters that our programs are successful and our legislative efforts, fruitful.
